JANE AUSTEN SCAVENGER HUNT ON A BUDGET

1. Pair up.
2. Each pair will be given $300 (figuratively).
3. You must buy all six of her major novels. (No, I won't tell you the names of them. You must find that out for yourself.)
4. Each novel must be in its own book. (Do not buy books with two of them together.)
5. You must have all the volumes if the novel was published in two or three volumes.
6. No sets of her novels.
7. Books must be hardback.
8. Buy the oldest six books you can find for the money.
9. The pair with the oldest set (all six publishing dates added together) wins.
10. If a book is listed in Euros, convert to dollars. (Multiply the price in Euros by 1.53 to get the equivalent in dollars.)
11. For simplicity, the following apply:
     a. Condition is not an issue.
     b. Shipping is not considered.
     c. If there is no publishing date, the book will not be considered.
12. The following are good sites to use:
     a. www.alibris.com
     b. www.biblio.com
     c. www.abebooks.com
     d. www.worldofrarebooks.com
     e. www.hpbmarketplace.com
13. If you use the above sites, look to use their extended search or rare book buttons or whatever is similar for the site.
14. Do not use EBay.
15. Have a list with the name of the novel, the publishing date (if there are several, use the most recent.), the price, and a link to the page where you found it.
16. Turn the list into the "Jane Austen Scavenger Hunt on a Budget" folder in Google Classroom.
17. Make sure both names are on the list.
18. You will have to use a strategy to do well on this.
